Soil Analysis Services

Soil Analysis and Sampling

A soil test is essential to determine soil fertility levels and make good nutrient management decisions.

Appropriate nutrient application can increase yields, reduce production costs, and prevent surface and groundwater pollution.

Soil Sampling

For over 25 years, Stratford Agri Analysis has provided the farmers of Ontario with soil sampling services.

We offer a variety of soil sampling packages including composite sampling, zone sampling and GPS grid sampling for all your farm needs.

Lawn & Garden

One of the essentials to having a spectacular lawn and garden is knowing what’s best for making them grow. Soil testing is the only way to determine the nutrients you need (or in some cases what’s not needed). Our comprehensive lawn/garden/trees/shrubs testing program provides you with the nutrient composition of your samples. We then utilize these results and create an exclusive recommendation tailored to your specific needs.

Our comprehensive Soil Analysis Package includes:

Taking a Nitrate Sample Yourself

Stratford Agri Analysis’ experienced team is ready to do your PSNT sampling, but if you prefer, gather your samples and drop them at our Stratford office.

Sampling for Nitrate levels differs slightly from general sampling so here is what you need to know. It is highly recommended that a soil probe be used when taking nitrate samples as you will need to reach a sample depth of 12 inches for each core. (Soil testing probes are available on loan at our Stratford office)

  • Map out field(s) to be tested in 25 acre (or less) sections
  • Stagger core locations within the sections (see example map below)
  • Pull 7-8 cores from each section (between the rows)
  • Place all of the entire 12 inch cores from that section in a large Zip Lock bag
  • Clearly label each section’s bag with a Unique Identifier ie.) West Field-Sample 1 etc.
  • Store samples in a cooler and drop them at our office the same day
  • Refrigerate or freeze if same day delivery isn’t possible
  • Complete and print the Submission form and place in package with the samples
  • We do the sampling for you
